Lockdown NZ 2020

Hellooooooo........

So this is is my personal ramblings of our current situation.  Day to Day account of our time in lockdown during the Covid-19 pandemic.  I am sure this won't be terribly interesting, but it will certainly be a platform in which I can express my day to day feelings.

I am sure I am not the only person in the world doing a blog, so it will be interesting to share these blog with different people around the world.  We are all in similar but different situations so it will be good to see how we are fairing each day and if need be use it as a means to vent.

I am sure not all the posts will be happy happy, but least it will document day to day life in our street in NZ at this time.

Day One - basically went nuts and cleaned the house, caught up on all the washing and set about organising the house to that 5 adults can co-habit with equal amount of space.  So best I explain the make-up of our household which is made up of 5 adults.

Myself & Husband Brent,Daughter 18, Son 16 and Daughters boyfriend 18

We don't have a huge house - 3 bedrooms, but lounge and kitchen area will be our communal living space. This I intend to keep tidy and not have it looking like a student flat - lol

Day two - Continued with the washing - in case you are wondering Daughter & Boyfriend came home from uni due to lockdown, hence all the washing.  Had to take my Son to work, which was a little stressful - he works at New World - He is on the frontline, along with my Daughter - so worry about them I will.

I did end up sitting on my phone for way too long! Got so terribly bored with it all.  The posts on Facebook all seem the same now.  Not that I am wanting to hide from the worldwide situation, but it is all bit much to fathom when every post is relating to the virus.  And I would say there are probably 50% covid posts - 20% game request posts & 30% "lets play a quiz" that still seem to relate to the isolation.

Day three - Today I decided that I would like to have a go at some cooking videos for my students - haha.  Found my tripod for my phone and had a little play.  Discovered I needed to to be so super organised with all the stuff, so ended up just making pizza instead.  It was however so super yummy. Real dough used for the base too. Very rewarding and the two boys at home hovered it up in no time.

Incase you are wondering - Daughter is at work all day and Husband is also working - he is in agriculture so still has to plant seeds and sort crops out.

After watching the latest news update, I decided I was going a little crazy and needed a walk. Only did 2848 steps which is a 3rd of what I do normally at school and that does not include the studio.  Need to do more.  Asked Son to dust off the cobwebs of my bike and give it a service, there is a 3km circuit I can do which is within house radius - solitary :)

Then I decided to pick this up again, and this is fun, sorry if it drivel's on, but when you only have the cat to chat to.... haha.

Dinner is decided - chicken rissoles - but shall go and do some desk sorting.  The list of jobs is quite long really, but I am in that "can't be arsed" phase.

Ok will sign off for today.... see you all tomorrow.

Today is Sunday... feels somewhat weird. Does feel like a Sunday, although everyday does actually feel like this.  Yesterday was fairly productive. Operation garage clean out commenced and will no doubt continue for a while.  It is nice to purge all the things we have hoarded over time.  Once garage is done it will be Operation Loft clean out!! Now that will be a mission and a half and will take time - but time we seem to have hahaha.

Sun was out this morning but since sitting at my window it has clouded over and looks like we will be getting some more rain - which is a nuisance as I put all the grubby rain coats in to wash, and they need to drip dry.

Been thinking about finances and the future and what impact covid-19 will have on us.  I confess to thinking that it wasn't going to affect me or us, as I thought we were ok.  But the uncertainty of how long the lockdown will go for has me thinking further into the future. I do know this much, I miss going to work, I miss teaching, and I miss dance.

What shall I bake today?..... hmm sun has reappeared, might go in the garden. Everyone seems a bit grumpy today, so will just keep to myself and do jobs.

Not sure if this shares each time I write on it... so you guys will just have to let me know.
